Christian standards in business is an informal recognition of a level of business ethics in dealing with money, people and the environment.
The main points are:
- To treat customers and suppliers as you would want them to treat you. Respect competitors and they will respect you; consider them as colleagues facing the same problems as yourself. Remember that for any service organisation, helping others is the centre of the business.
- To show respect to all members of staff to ensure fair pay and conditions and to support their personal development
- To respect other beliefs and ethical positions
- To be honest and fair in all financial issues, including national taxation. Pay for what you receive and on time.
- To follow national and international regulations and not to exploit those who need support to meet such requirements; provide assistance where possible in the same way that you would want to be helped.
- To consider the environment through minimising use of energy and natural resources
- To go the extra mile by providing more than the minimum expected of you.
- Help others without waiting to be asked, in the same way you would appreciate help from others.
- Keep smiling; stay happy.
By following this simple guideline, the working environment can be much less stressful and more trusting, leaving time to be spent doing other things that are more important. And more fun.
